KDE DCOP Article
In preparation for the workshop, I thought that I'd post this link to an article introducing KDE's DCOP functionality.
Think of DCOP as a way of scripting GUI applications. If there are any OS X users here, DCOP is to KDE as ApplScript is to OS X.
The possibilities here are limitless. The only downside is that in order to use DCOP, your application has to be a full-fledged KDE application, not just an app built with QT, Gnome, or plain-old X11. This is because DCOP is part of the KDE framework... one of the things you get for "free" when you build a KDE app.
